(1) 9th Plenary Meeting of the ANMC21 Held in Tokyo
From November 7th to 10th, 2010, 9th plenary meeting of the ANMC21 was held in Tokyo. The leaders and personnel from member cities were able to gather with one-another and engage in discussion. This was the second time for the plenary meeting to be held in Tokyo; the first meeting was held in Tokyo when the network was established in 2001.
Main topics focused upon “To Reduce Environmental Load in Asia’s Major Cities”, as well as “Promotion of Industry and New Technology Development”, with participants pledging to increase cooperation and exchange in these areas. In order to achieve a more multifaceted degree of cooperation, the participants agreed to strengthen public/private collaborations and to share successful precedents. The plenary meeting’s findings were adopted as the Tokyo Declaration. The next plenary meeting is to be held in Seoul next year.
