The Plenary Meeting of the Asian Network of Major Cities 21 (ANMC21) was held in Hanoi in November, 2013. In addition to discussions among representatives of the different cities on urban planning and energy policy, a new initiative for technology and industry was launched as well.

Three rescue squads from Seoul, Taipei and New Taipei participated in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) Comprehensive Disaster Management Drill held in November, 2013. The quality of training was much enhanced with cooperation among each rescue team members coming from different cities.

3: Working to Resolve Transport Problems Common to Asian Cities
- Intelligent Transport System Workshop held in Tokyo -

The Intelligent Transport System (ITS) Workshop was held in Tokyo in October, 2013, with participants from four different cities. They considered how to resolve Asian major cites' traffic problems using leading-edge information-communication technologies.
