Tokyo Fire Department firefighters participated in the Seoul Fire Festival and the Fire Drill in Taipei. Here we report the events in which these participants realized once again the idea of "firefighting recognizes no national borders" through the firefighting technique exchanges.

After a 16-year absence, Tokyo participated in the Seoul Friendship Fair 2015. Artists from Tokyo performed at the festival and deepened the friendship between two cities.

The series, "Profile: A Person of Asia," features administrative officers who work actively every day in Asian cities, and international students who are expected to play active roles in the region. In this issue, we introduce Dr. Marcelino Q. Villafuerte II, who was awarded PhD at Tokyo Metropolitan University and has been working in the Philippines as a specialist in extreme weather and climatic disasters.
