Introducing ANMC 21 Joint Projects
ANMC21 is a cooperative effort between major cities and capitals in Asia to solve problems faced by large cities. In this issue, we focus on projects regarding "Tourism" and "Crisis Management".

(1) The 9th Council for Promotion of Tourism in Asia
The council for promotion of tourism in Asia is an organization to implement the "Welcome to Asia Campaign", a joint project of the "Asian Network of Major Cities 21 (ANMC21)". While promoting collaboration among the Asian cities, the council aims to promote tourism in each city and attract tourists by presenting industries and urban infrastructures with distinctive local characteristics as attractive tourism resources. The council is currently composed of the nine cities of Bangkok, Delhi, Hanoi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Taipei, and Tokyo.
This time, we will introduce the 9th conference, which was held in Kuala Lumpur.

Conference hall
The conference was held on July 7th and 8th, 2010, at the Kuala Lumpur Library in Malaysia. Participants included representatives from Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, and Tokyo, as well as members of the Kuala Lumpur tourism industry. The participants proactively exchanged opinions on how to promote tourism and attract tourists particularly from North America, Europe, Oceania, and within Asia.

Along with the conference, a tourism exhibition was held at Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station from July 7th to 11th, including panel exhibition, distribution of pamphlets, and performance of traditional arts.
