Hometown/Country:Pokhara/Nepal

Please introduce your hometown.
Pokhara valley is the second most visited place in Nepal gifted with natural beauty. The valley is crowned by majestic Annapurna Himalayan range with its magnificent image of reflection in water of Phewa lake. This city is also the beginning and ending point for “Annapurna trekking Route”. Tourists love to take rest and enjoy with gorgeous waterfalls, gorges, caves together with adventure sports like: Ultra-light flying, paragliding and rafting. Being rich in culture and nature it is well known for art and literature. Together with this locals are friendly and love to exchange culture with foreigners.

How is your daily life in Tokyo?
I am well supported and surrounded by good friends and colleagues; my life in Tokyo is smooth. Environment near campus is peace and quiet with few departmental stores. I love this environment for daily life. Most of my time is spent on work so sometimes I feel I have missed many things to see around. And of course, there are many challenges on academic life and living independently; I take this as a part of struggle in life. However, when I am exhausted I go around Shinjuku or Shibuya which is approximately 60 min distance to travel from the campus. I love to go out with some friends without using navigation tool so that we can miss our way and get lost on crowded and entertaining Tokyo.

Where is the place you recommend to visit in Tokyo, and why?
Tokyo is a vibrant city with skyscrapers to quiet garden. Busy life, well managed city. As I have not been to many places I would like to explain some places around. Asakusa is one of the attractive place where Sensoji Temple, Sumida Park, Asahi Beer Tower and 634m tall Skytree lies in a very close distance. At this place we can see ancient culture pulling cart by man to modern high tech. Enjoy your luck test in Asakusa temple which I love to do every time and often seen in Japanese movies. I recommend climbing Skytree on the evening so that we can observe Fuji-san and slowly glowing Tokyo city. Lift of Skytree is amazing; view of the city from Skytree deck is wonderful. Don’t miss a spot on Skytree where we can stand on a glass and look straight down, a breathtaking view. Shinjuku, Shibuya and Akihabara are some of the place I prefer to hangout where we can find beautiful people taking rest from busy life. Akihabara electronic town is an amazing town with different electronics and new technology. I love this place to go after one shop to next to see some interesting hobby parts, electronics, equipment and tools beside manga and maid café girls. Tokyo has got some pleasant gardens and parks, which are worth visiting and spending all day leaving all worries and hassles of life. I love to go there alone with a book. Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and Chidorigfuchi are beautiful during Sakura season. Ashikaga flower park is one of the parks that I need to mention over here. Odaiba Rainbow bridge and Yokohoma iconic place are beautiful place for sparkling lights and sea breeze. Finally Shirakawa-go UNESCO world heritage site is one of the best sight I have ever visited in Japan. This place is wonderful at night with snow in winter.

Why did you decide to study in TMU and what do you want to achieve through your studies?
I came to knew about TMU aerospace engineering program from my previous university program director while pursuing master’s degree. Also, during masters we had good acquaintance with a few Japanese Professors from Tokyo Tech, who had quite good impact on me, specially my advisor. On the other hand, Tokyo Metropolitan University, “Asian Human Resource Fund” Scholarship supported by Tokyo Metropolitan Government was a good opportunity with attractive subject of interest for me. From the study in TMU, I would like to achieve knowledge about how to be an independent researcher. I would like to excel my engineering skill on design and analysis.
After achieving the doctoral degree, I would like to pass my knowledge to juniors. I would like to be a lecturer or be a researcher at University or an engineering firm. I have a desire to make more cooperation with Professors and researchers whom I have acquaintance.
