![]() Support for biogas production from organic wasteeBangkok■ OverviewIn 2006 Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (AEDE) cooperated to launch a project of biogas production from organic waste for 40 BMA schools (installation cost supported by AEDE) and in 2009 the project was extended to another 40 schools (installation cost supported by BMA),now there are 80 schools participated in the project. The biogas tanks are 2.5 cubic meter in size and can receive about 40 kg/day of organic waste. The gas was predicted to be produced at the rate of 2.5 cubic meter/day/tank or sustituted for 1 kg of LPG. The sludge produced can be used as soil conditioner in liquid or solid forms. ■ Period of Implementation
