Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Lingap sa Barangay Manila
■ Overview
The “MMDA Lingap sa Barangay” is a component of the Agency’s community outreach program and is in line with its broader mandate to implement programs on solid waste disposal, flood control and sewerage management, urban renewal and health and sanitation. All of which are geared towards the enhancement of ecological balance in various communities within Metro Manila, in coordination with the local government units (LGUS) concerned. The said clean-up campaign aims to stem the dire effects of flooding and the reported spate of dengue cases in Metro Manila.
■ Period of Implementation
- The “MMDA Lingap sa Barangay” program started with a massive clean-up drive last September 3, 2010 up to present.
■ Features

The contingent team consists of road clearing, sidewalk clearing and construction and equipment personnel with cleaning, dredging implements and heavy equipment in tow to scour densely populated and depressed barangays, and to help local officials and residents clean the roadways, markets, drainage systems and other public places, including the destruction of possible breeding places of mosquitoes.
The MMDA field workers leave the venue 3 to 5 days after the start of the activities to finish the commitments.
