■ Overview
MMDA Conducted 27 trainings on its Earthquake and Landslide Search and Rescue Orientation Course(ELSAROC) which involved 12,012 participants for the period of 1 July to 30 April 2011.
“Metro Manila is vulnerable to a 7.2 magnitude earthquake and should this strong earthquake occur; it is estimated that 35,000 people may die, 115,000 may be injured, 170,000 residential structures may collapse; 500 fires may break out and spread; 10-25 % of government buildings may be damaged; some bridges may collapse; and power, water, and telephone lines may be cut disrupting national socio-economic activities.”

- Training covered 4 schools, 20 barangays, 30 private companies and other government agencies such as DENR, Senate Electoral Tribunal, House of Representatives, COA and PNOC.
The Landslide Search and Rescue Orientation Course (ELSAROC) was also made available to the public through the uploading of videos and training modules which can be viewed on YOU TUBE.
Aside from ELSAROC, MMDA conducted Flood Incident Response and Safety Training (FIRST) benefiting 1,006 MMDA personnel.
