■Summary |
■In the recent "The 2nd Asian Crisis Management Conference", participants exchanged specific and practical opinions on advanced initiatives in participating cities. ■Participants exchanged know-how / information on the handling of a diverse range of disasters including natural disasters, epidemics and NBC terrorism, and pledged mutual support in human resource development / technological cooperation, to improve the collective crisis management capabilities of the Asian region. ■From the perspectives of self help, mutual help and public assistance, participants agreed on the need for wide-area coordination / cooperation at various levels (citizens, private sector, national, regional), and the importance of coordination among relevant organizations (police, fire department, medical institutions, etc.) to maintain capital (urban) functions, minimize disaster damage and ensure early restoration. ■Participants confirmed cooperation between participating cities, and pledged to exercise their initiatives in promoting comprehensive crisis management measures. ■Participants agreed to hold the Third Asian Crisis Management Conference in Seoul. |
