As a host for the 7th Plenary Meeting of ANMC21, I would like to thank all the participating cities for their contributions, thoughts and ideas.
It can be seen through the Plenary Meeting implementation report of the ANMC21 Joint Projects, policy dialogue on flood control measures and special report on promotion of sport, all the member cities have given their full cooperation, commitment and participation to make this meeting a success.

I would like to congratulate and also thank our hosts Kuala Lumpur for this very successful hosting of this year’s Plenary Meeting of the Asian Network of Major Cities.
We were able to discuss and agreed on things that are of importance to our region, and we have proven once and for all, once again, that we are united cities of Asia: on problems and aspirations.

Well first of all I would like to congratulate our host city Kuala Lumpur, particularly Mayor Hakim, as well as the ANMC Secretariat, who have successfully organized this conference. This conference has been very meaningful, especially to the sharing of best practices in crisis management, in urban management and development issues, especially with regards to now research on infectious disease. We have benefited greatly from this meeting, and we hope to continue to participate actively in ANMC21 in working with the member states, member cities, to jointly look at how to come up with solutions to overcome many of the challenges facing us in urban cities.

Yes, we from Taipei, we are very thanks to the city of Kuala Lumpur to host this meeting, and congratulations for the success of this meeting.
As I reported in the meeting, sports promotes the health for all our citizens in Asia area and also the tourism, and now, next year, 2009, Taipei city hosts the 2009 Deaflympic, and I hope all cities in Asia can send more athletes, sports person, to Taipei and we will do our best to welcome everybody.

Year after year, I have seen the programs of this network being substantiated; especially we can recognize the coming of the Age of Asia, and in order to make it sure that the Age of Asia is coming, I really felt that we need to have closer cooperation and we should have stronger solidarity among the major cities in Asia. And once again, I was made to realize that we need to work together in joint projects.
Once again I would like to pay tribute to and express my appreciation to the city of Kuala Lumpur for running this conference a great success.
